Touch the Clouds Pole Vault Festival: A Display of Determination and Teamwork

The second day of the Touch the Clouds Pole Vault Festival has been nothing short of extraordinary, with already 10 hours of pole vaulting despite challenging weather conditions. The organizers have surpassed expectations, transforming obstacles into opportunities and ensuring the event’s success.

Overcoming Challenges with Unwavering Resolve

Thursday evening brought the organisers significant concerns if they could proceed with the event under the terrible weather. Could the event be safely moved into the indoor next to the track, but by Friday, the event turned into an indoor festival and it was received resoundingly positive. On Friday a total of 56 athletes delivered exceptional performances, achieving numerous personal bests across four complete competitions.

A Testament to Team Effort

The success of this festival is a testament to the unprecedented teamwork of everyone involved. The TTC team of helpers, athletes, coaches, and officials all played crucial roles. Chief organiser Matthias Schimmelpfennig praised the collective effort, saying, “Everyone pitched in, everyone was up for the competition.”

Looking Forward

As partners in the organization of this incredible event, ESSX Europe is proud to support such a display of resilience and sportsmanship. The Touch the Clouds Festival continues to inspire and set new standards for the sport, showing that with determination and teamwork, any challenge can be overcome.
