Following the super efforts during the initial two days of the Touch the Clouds Festival 2024, the final day proved to be a fitting conclusion to this extraordinary event.
Celebrating Success Amidst Challenges
The Touch the Clouds Festival, held from May 31 to June 2, 2024, in Gräfelfing, brought together top athletes from across the continent. Under the guidance of Matthias Schimmelpfennig and in collaboration with TSV Gräfelfing e.V., the festival reached new heights, earning IAAF Challenger Meeting status and providing athletes the opportunity to earn official world ranking points.
Despite the initial setbacks due to weather problems affecting the south of Germany, the festival’s organizing team displayed adaptability typical for thepole vault family ;-). The first two days saw all competitions moved indoors, ensuring the safety and performance conditions for the athletes.
A Perfect Finale Under Clear Skies
The third and final day of the festival was blessed with dry, favorable weather, allowing the competitions to return outdoors. The athletes thrived in the improved conditions, delivering spectacular performances that captivated the audience, two meeting records as a fitting result. The atmosphere at the end of the last day was electric as the crowd cheered enthusiastically, celebrating every jump and success.
